Meet the Team

Mabelle Reynoso

Mabelle Reynoso, Ph.D. is an award-winning playwright, multidisciplinary storyteller, and educator whose work has been performed all over the country, with the intention of contributing to critically conscious conversations about social and environmental justice through connections fueled by stories. She is a founding member of Teatro Las Hermanas, a co-host of the Hey Playwright podcast, and a champion for anyone who wants to tell their story, in any form. Tori Rice

Tori Rice is an acclaimed playwright, director, educator, and founding member of Teatro Las Hermanas. She co-hosts the Hey Playwright podcast, sharing her passion for theater with listeners worldwide. Favorite directing credits include Nepantla Behind Bars, Remember That Time, Somos Aire, ¡Lotería: Game On!, and this beautiful play, Shuluuk Wechuwvi: Where Lightning Was Born. Tori holds an MFA in Playwriting from ASU, and her work has been produced nationally—from universities to courtrooms. Zulema Reynoso

Zulema Reynoso, Ph.D. is a scholar‑artivist, teatrista, and adjunct professor whose work bridges education, visual storytelling and community practice. Her research foregrounds arts‑based and youth participatory action research (YPARt) to challenge deficit narratives and advocate for multilingual learners. A published illustrator, she extends performance into comics to amplify youth voice. In theatre, she collaborates with culture bearers and honors protocol.
